Tejasvi Surya is one of the well-known and young faces of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is an MP from Bangalore South seat in the Lok Sabha. He was born on 16 November 1990 and hails from Bangalore. Tejashwi has rapidly risen to prominence in Indian politics due to his clear oratory skills and staunch nationalism. His father LA Suryanarayana has been a Joint Commissioner of Excise and his uncle LA Ravi Subramanyam has been elected MLA thrice from Basavanagudi Assembly Constituency.
BJP candidate Tejasvi Surya got 7 lakh 39 thousand 229 votes, while Congress candidate BK Hariprasad got 4 lakh 8 thousand 37 votes. BJP defeated Congress by a huge margin of 3 lakh 31 thousand 192 votes.

He is married to Chennai’s famous singer and Bharatanatyam dancer Shivashree Skandaprasad. Shivashree graduated in Bioengineering from Shastra University. After this, she obtained an MA degree in Bharatanatyam from Chennai University.
